Marytyn Williams Speaking at the Climate change meeting, 24th January 2007 Print E-mail
Marytyn Williams is the Senior Parliamentary Campaigner for Friends of the Earth. He has been with the organisation for approximately 11 years, and in that time has piloted numerous campaigns through to Parliament and into law. Martyn coordinated the coalition behind the passing of the Warm Homes and Energy Conservation Act - which legally requires Governments to end fuel poverty by 2016, and the Household Waste Recycling Act which ensures every home will have a doorstep recycling service by 2010. He has also worked on transport, energy efficiency and corporate responsibility.

Since May 2005, Martyn has led the campaign for the Climate Change Bill – a proposed law which would set annual targets for cutting CO2 emissions. This has been the centrepiece of Friends of the Earth's "Big Ask" Campaign, which has now led to the Government including a Climate Change Bill in last November's Queen’s Speech.

Length: Approx 11 Minutes.
